The program for this project was to reclaim an abandoned lot in the center of a residential district, which before reuse was an overrun parking lot. The plan for the project involved the slow transition of that lot into a public park. A portion of the lawn of the park would be lifted, and several elevated walkways placed underneath the 'lawn roof'. The walkways would overlook a public natatorium. Public use of the site would change the landscape over time.
CNC MILLED WALL PANEL SYSTEM
A collaboration with the University of Arkansas, a wall paneling system (purely sculptural) designed in digital software and then CNC milled from the same material used to make countertops.
LASER CUT CARDBOARD LIGHTING SYSTEM
Cardboard was laser cut in layers and then these layers were stacked with space between to allow the light to filter through.
SCULPTURAL PUBLIC PAVILION FOR BARCELONA
An open public pavilion and iconic sculpture for Barcelona that would occupy and abandoned railway station. The form of the railway becomes a lyrical inspiration for the form of the pavilion. Public performances and events would be held in the newly created public park surrounding the pavilion.
